Abadan will Build World`s Largest Maritime Museum

Abadan will become the site for world’s largest maritime museum. said Head of Oil Industry Museums Office Akbar Nematollahi.
He said that the city also hosted Petroleum Technical School. a center of vocational education. The school is currently 90-years-old and will host the second such nautical museum in a track of land stretching 1600 meters. The British funded the School to train the necessary workforce for the booming oil industry then in early 1910s. after years when solely British were trained for high-profile jobs. Iranians also found high ranks in terms of higher-paid jobs. All were educated in the Technical School.
“Nautical Museum is part of an ambitious plan to establish 5 such nautical museums. the projected museum will be the 3rd in Abadan and will encompass 11 docks in a staggering size of 1600 meters. the museum-park will have space and amenities for different age groups.” Nematollahi detailed. “Tourism will be in the focus for the project. all amenities will bore the symbolism of the oil industry. In building conference halls. children playground facilities. and other centers. oil industry will dominate as the major theme.”
Nematollahi also said that the planning of the nautical museum had been carried out based on the world most prestigious nautical museums. “the docks. to be renewed and rebuild. will provide the public with open spaces for walking. the museum will also host children in 5 different playgrounds.
