Iran. Armenia Ink MoU on Plant Protection. Quarantine

Following negotiations between Iran’s Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati and his Armenian counterpart Ignati Araqelyan. the two countries inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on plants protection and quarantine.
The MoU was inked between Armenian Food Security Department affiliated to Armenia Ministry of Agriculture and Iran Plant Protection Organization.
Both sides reviewed suggestions on promoting cooperation in agricultural field and the related industries.
Launching joint production units in animal and plant breeding. holding joint activities in free trade zones. importing semi-finished goods and then exporting them to Eurasian Economic Union member states are among main topics envisaged in the MoU.
Hojjati arrived in Yerevan on Tuesday and held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan.
During his four-day trip. he is also scheduled to visit some agricultural projects.
