US LNG Attracts New Buyers

Lithuania gas trader Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas on Monday announced a deal with a Cheniere Energy unit for the delivery of US LNG.
The agreement follows a signing ceremony on Sunday between Cheniere Energy and Korea Gas Corporation that marked the official start of a 20-year supply agreement.
Lithuania aims to receive its cargo of US LNG at its terminal in Klaipeda port in the second half of August. “It will be the first time Lithuania imports gas from the U.S..” an Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas spokesperson said in comments to Reuters.
The inaugural US LNG cargo left Louisiana’s Sabine Pass terminal last year. Cheniere now exports to Asia. South America. the Caribbean and the Middle East. Europa and Turkey are buyers as well. as is Mexico.
In May. Poland received its first US spot delivery of LNG. A visit by US President Donald Trump to the country in July is expected to open the door to additional LNG supply agreements.
