Iran Plans to Construct 2nd Phase of Imam Khomeini Petchem Complex

Iran`s top oil official said on Thursday that Tehran has planned to construct second phase of the Imam Khomeini petrochemical complex in a 1.000-hectare area in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.
Addressing a local gathering in Khuzestan. Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said that provincial potentials should be used to upgrade gas exports to other countries.
Referring to Iraq as a major market for Iran’s gas exports. Zangeneh said. “Iraq is the closest market to Khuzestan and the Iranian province has so far played a major role in exporting of gas to Iraq. However. he added. the province had to boost a more active in that regard.
The minister added that the volume of Iran’s gas exports to Iraq would increase remarkably with proper future planning.
