Iran`s Power Exports Surpasses Imports

A senior official at Iran`s power export affairs said on Saturday that as an exporter and importer of electricity. the country`s annual power expors are three times more than its imports standing about nine billion kilowatts.
Speaking to reports in this northwestern provincial capital city. Arash Kourdi. director general of Iran`s Power Generation Transmission and Distribution Management Company (Tavanir). said that the country exports electricity to Afghanistan. Pakistan. Iraq and Turkey and have seasonal energy swap with Armenia and Turkmenistan. The official added that Iran can also play an active role in transit of electricity.
