Iran to Export LNG to Basra by Next Year

Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh announced that Iran is slated to resume its export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Iraq`s Basra as of the next Iranian year (will start on March 21).

`Iran has already started exporting gas to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad and it will begin exporting LNG to Basra in the coming months.` Zangeneh said.

The Iranian oil minister. meantime. said that the remaining phases of South Pars Gas Field development projects are the top priority of his Ministry.

The super giant South Pars. known as North Dome in Qatar. is the world’s largest gas field which has 28 phases in the Persian Gulf region.

Iran and the six world powers (the US. the UK. France. China. Russia and Germany) reached a landmark nuclear agreement on July 14. 2015.

Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted in January 2016. and the country was overrun by many foreign companies from different world countries which were eager to cooperate with Iran.

According to the international deal. all sides should be committed to the multilateral agreements. however. the United States has been creating obstacles to implementation of the deal and putting pressure on others to do so.
