Decline of US Natural Gas Storage

US natural gas stockpiles showed a decline in the week ended 20 April. according to data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Thursday.

Natural gas inventories reached 1281 billion cubic feet (bcf) last week. registering a net decrease of 18 bcf versus the figure in the previous week.

Stockpiles fell by 897 bcf compared to the same corresponding period of 2017. whereas they were 527 bcf below the five-year average of 1.808 bcf. the EIA`s data showed.

“Some natural gas storage operators have reported net withdrawals from base gas. beginning with the week ending 6 April 2018.“ the report said.

The report further added that the `cumulative net withdrawals of base gas were treated as negative working gas stocks and are reflected in the working gas inventories.“
