Iran Increases Exports from Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone

Managing-Director of the Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone Hassan Khalaj Tehrani said that over 5.8mln tons of goods worth $1.6bln were exported from the region.

The region has always been trying to accelerate the process by attracting investors based on economic. trade. customs interests and development to achieve its development. he said.

Tehrani referred to the Persian Gulf Zone with advantages. including the increase and development of modern technology in the production and promotion of quality and export power to compete in global markets.

He noted that the Persian Gulf Zone is a strategic area for the country`s economy. which has reliable infrastructure.

Earlier this year. Iranian Minister of Industry. Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani said that government considered non-oil exports as a driving force behind the economic development of the country. reassuring that exporting more is high on the agenda of the country in the current year.

Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys high potentials in various sectors to materialize the most economic objectives. especially in the field of brands. Rahmani said in February.

In the meantime. public and private sectors of the government havd established fair interaction among themselves and there is not any disagreement between them. he said. adding. Under such circumstances. export barriers should be resolved completely.

He reiterated that his ministry would focus on exports and mineral sector.
