Iran Vows to Support Domestic Producers of Sanctioned Goods

Supporting the domestic production of embargoed items and goods is high on the agenda of the annual programs of the Vice-Presidential Department for Science and Technology. Sattari said today.

He added that everyday his department is offered with a list of goods which are needed to be independently manufactured and produced because of the US unilateral sanctions. adding that competent Iranian companies are afterward picked to talk into making the needed item.

Sattari added that low-interest loans and grants are offered to Iranian researchers. inventors and entrepreneurs to ramp up efforts for replacing banned items with their home-grown editions.

Back in February. Iranian president Hassan Rouhani highlighted the huge capacities of Knowledge-based services and companies to create employment opportunities in the country. calling for further focus on the sphere.

Then. the president said that the US unilateral sanctions against Tehran have helped his country as the pressures push the nation to work harder and replicate embargoed products and items.

“Some countries think that sanctions are a way for reducing the pace of development in a country. but. they increase motivation for us in the country. so that we can produce the part we used to import.“ Rouhani said.

The Iranian president described working towards self-sufficiency as a practical fight against imperialism and major powers. adding. “Sanctions are aimed at reducing the growth of technology in our country … but we need to use sanctions as an opportunity for growth.“
