Iran. China to Bolster Agricultural Cooperation

During the meeting with Han. Hojjati referred to the use of available capacities as a new strategy for agricultural cooperation between Iran and China. noting. Tehran and Beijing have committed themselves to expand cooperation and are trying to use the facilities. knowledge and existing capacities to further develop these partnerships.

Han. for his part in the meeting. highlighted the need for technical cooperation. sharing experiences. the development of bilateral relations and scientific support from each other in different sectors.

During the meeting. a number of directors and heads of organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran are also present. both sides emphasized the development of relations in various fields of agriculture.

Hojjati arrived in Beijing on Thursday on a four-day trip in order to strengthen and expand economic relations in the field of agriculture.

He went to Cheng Dao city to visit the city`s agricultural projects.

Hojjati also visited the Chinese Agricultural Research Institute in Beijing. and met with the head of the research institute.

On Thursday. Chinese Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Cheung Hua underlined his country`s strong interests in the further development of trade and economic relations with Iran irrespective of the US sanctions.

Despite all problems facing ahead and the US reimposition of sanctions on Iran. People’s Republic of China is determined to expand and broaden its trade and business relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran wholeheartedly. Hua said in a meeting with Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian in Tehran.

China is against any unilateral move of the United States. he added.

Hua pointed to the very good situation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in electricity and energy generation industry. and added. The Chinese companies are interested in boosting and enhancing their cooperation with Iranian firms in the field of water and energy.

Ardakanian. for his part. pointed to the amicable and friendly ties between Islamic Republic of Iran and China. and said. The two countries of Iran and China enjoy high capacities and potentials for broadening bilateral relationship in all fields.

Iran eyes accelerating and developing its cooperation with Chinese companies in order to have a suitable presence in market of regional countries. he said.

The Chinese foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that Beijing strongly opposes US sanctions on a Chinese energy firm for ignoring boycotts on Iran’s oil sector.

The United States has imposed sanctions against a Chinese company that is the biggest buyer of Iranian oil in the world. amid an escalating trade war between Washington and Beijing and US threats against Tehran.

On Monday. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that Washington sanctioned the company. Zhuhai Zhenrong Co Ltd. because it knowingly engaged in a significant transaction for the purchase or acquisition of crude oil from Iran.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Beijing firmly opposed the sanctions. adding that China’s cooperation with Iran was normal under international law.

We urge the US to correct this wrongdoing and stop its illegal sanctions on companies and individuals. she told reporters at a daily briefing. adding. The US has neglected the legitimate rights of all countries and randomly applies sanctions. this is in violation of international law.

It is the first time the US has sanctioned a Chinese company in relation to its campaign of maximum pressure against Iran.
