Keeping JCPOA Iran`s Approach

Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and France stressed the importance of more negotiations. relations and cooperation between Tehran and Paris on different bilateral. regional and international issues.

President Hassan Rouhani spoke with President Emmanuel Macron of France late on Saturday and described France`s efforts for saving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) serious. adding. `Iranian Foreign Minister. Mohammad Javad Zarif`s visit to France was very important for the public and political opinions in the region and the world`.

Stating that Iran`s main approach is safeguarding the JCPOA. he emphasized. `Full implementation of commitments by the signatories to the deal and ensuring freedom of navigation in all straits. including the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are Iran`s two main goals in current negotiations`.

He went on to describe the United States` lack of commitment to the JCPOA and unilateral withdrawal from the deal as aimed at making many problems. saying. `Unfortunately after the US` unilateral move. European countries did not take any practical steps in living up to their commitments`.

The President also said that the lift of all sanctions against Iran lay the groundwork for further negotiation. stressing. `If Europe cannot put its commitments into operation. Iran will take the third step in reducing its JCPOA commitments. which of course will be reversible`.

`The contents of the deal are unchangeable and all parties and signatories to it need to be committed to its contents.` he said.

Expressing regret over the severe conditions of the innocent people of Yemen. Dr. Rouhani said. `There is no military solution to the Yemeni crisis at all. and we have to try to reach a fair peace and sustainable security in the country through political dialogue`.

Stating that today. new tensions in the region will not be beneficial to anybody. he said. `Today. the leaders of the Zionist Regime have made countless miscalculations towards other countries like Iran. Iraq. Lebanon and Syria. and they are announcing their acts of aggression proudly instead of apologizing`.

He continued. `As a key member of the United Nations Security Council. France is expected to make efforts for implementation of Security Council`&gt.UNSC resolutions and supporting UN Charter`.

During the same phone conversation. President of France Emmanuel Macron described Dr. Zarif`s visit to France effective and said. `This visit proved Iran`s resolve to defend its interests and its commitment towards negotiation`.

Referring to next week`s meeting between Iranian and French economists in Paris. he said. `I am confident that the continuation of negotiations for settling problems is the right decision and we need to continue along this path until we reach a desired point`.

Stating that the failure of the JCPOA will make many radicals around the world happy. he said. `We need to seek ways for securing mutual interests. and France is working to solve political and economic issues in relations with Iran and reducing tensions in the region`.

The French President also called for more cooperation between Iran and France for resolving regional issues. including the Yemeni crisis.
