Tehran Warns against Plots to Disrupt Iran-IAEA Ties

Iran’s envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency warns against what he calls a US-Israeli plot to disrupt constructive cooperation between Iran and the IAEA. 

Kazem Gharibabadi accused the US’s John Bolton of trying to set the agenda of the IAEA’s acting chief during his trip to Tehran by alleging that the visit was meant to question Iran on concealed nuclear material. Bolton was fired as US national security adviser on Wednesday. 

Iran’s envoy added that any attempt to exert pressure on the Agency in this regard would receive appropriate actions by Iran. 

In his latest report to the Board of Governors. IAEA Acting Director General Cornel Feruta confirmed Iran’s recent move in removing all restrictions related to centrifuge research and development. 

Iran says it will continue taking steps to cease obligations under the nuclear deal. known as the JCPOA. in 60-day intervals. Gharibabadi said blaming Iran while merely expressing regret over the root cause of the problem. namely the US withdrawal from the deal. is irresponsible. 

Iran says it’s giving the European signatories to the deal another two months to effectively guarantee Tehran’s economic benefits in the face of reimposed US sanctions. particularly in the area of oil sales.
