Iran Eyeing Further Trade with Tajikistan

Saberi in a meeting with Tajikistan`s Minister of Economy and Trade Nematollah Hekmatzadeh in the Tajik capital city of Dushanbe on Thursday. voiced his country`s readiness to broaden trade and economic relations with Tajikistan.

The Iranian envoy said that Tehran is prepared to share its experiences and knowhow in the field of economic cooperation with Dushanbe.

The Tajik minister. for his part. pointed to the active presence of Iranian businessmen and economic activists in Tajikistan over past decades. and called for the expansion and further strengthening of economic relations between the two countries in different economic fields.

The two sides reiterated the need for further facilitating trade exchanges between the two countries and more cooperation between the two countries` chambers of commerce while acknowledging the important role played by their private sectors` economic activists.

Early in March. Tajikistan`s Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda. in a meeting with Iran`s outgoing Ambassador Hojatullah Faqani. said that Dushanbe is determined to increase economic and commercial relations with Tehran. calling for increase in volume of trade between the two countries.

On Monday. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. in a message to his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon. felicitated the Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan. and called for deeper and broader ties between Tehran and Dushanbe.

Late last month. Saberi and Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Muhriddin. in a meeting in the capital city of the Central Asian country. voiced their respective countries’ determination to further deepen the bilateral ties in all areas of mutual interest.

According to Iran`s embassy in Dushanbe. during the meeting on August 29 at Tajikistan`s Foreign Ministry. Saberi and Muhriddin discussed issues of mutual interest.

In the meeting the two sides underlined expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields.

The Tajik minister called Iran as an important country in the region and the world. adding that the two countries enjoy plenty of commonalities which should be explored to help broaden ties and cooperation between the two sides.  

Referring to the visit of President Rouhani to Tajikistan. he then called the meeting between the two presidents very good and constructive followed by positive consequences.

Since both sides` officials are determined to broaden mutual cooperation. Iran is ready to broaden all out cooperation with Tajikistan. said the Iranian ambassador. 

President Hassan Rouhani attended the 5th Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit in Dushanbe on June 15. 2019 and explained Iran`s views and stands on regional developments in his meeting with his Tajik counterpart Rahmon.
