Iran-EU Nuclear Workshop Underway in Luxembourg

Iran and the European Union are holding a joint workshop in Luxembourg in a bid to increase their civil atomic cooperation.

In a series of tweet on Monday. Klement recounted that an Iran-EU Emergency Preparedness and Response Workshop was opened in Luxembourg as part of Iran-EU civil nuclear cooperation under the JCPOA Annex III. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is the official title for the nuclear deal of 2015 signed between Iran. the 5 permanent member states of the United Nations Security Council. the EU and Germany.

The EU ambassador added that enhanced nuclear safety cooperation including emergency preparedness and response are crucial for Iran. the region. and the world. A nuclear accident anywhere is a nuclear accident everywhere. he further warned.

 Klement also wrote in another tweet that cross-border cooperation is important in order to develop an effective response to nuclear accidents and minimize their impact. Ensuring the highest levels of nuclear safety is a long-standing EU priority. according to him.

In August. Iran’s Ministry of Science. Research and Technology signed an agreement with European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) to increase academic cooperation and joint research projects on nuclear sciences.

Deputy Minister of Science. Research and Technology for International Affairs Hossein Salar Amoli informed on August 17 that Iran and the CERN are scheduled to improve cooperation.

Iran has always sought to expand international relations on peaceful utilization of atomic energy and nuclear technology.
