Iran Posts More than 22% Rise in Non-Oil Exports

Iranian exports saw a rise of 22.5% in weight in the last six months (March 21-September 21) in comparison to the same period last year. said Iran Trade Promotion Organization President Hamid Zadbum on Thursday in the central city of Kashan. 

He mentioned that Iran’s machine-made carpet exports are gaining in value and weight. noting that the country is trying to regain the lost market to other international competitors. 

Kashan. located in the central Isfahan Province. is home to Iran’s carpet industry. both hand-woven and machine-made ones.

Early in this month. Head of Hormuzgan Ports and Maritime Department Allah-Morad Afifipour announced that the exports of non-oil products from the country’s Southern port of Shahid Rajayee stood at 19 million tons. registering a growth of 11.6 percent in the first half of the current Iranian year 1398 (ending on September 21. 2019).

He noted that exports of non-oil goods and oil products. in the said time. stood at 40.74 million. showing an annual increase of 6.6 percent.

In the first six months of the present year. 26.75 million tons of cargoes were loaded and unloaded at this port. showing a growth of 6.7 percent annually. Afifipour said.

Shahid Rajayee Port is Located in Iran’s Southern province of Hormuzgan and is the country’s largest and best-equipped container port.
