Iran Eyes 30 mcm/d CNG Distribution Capacity

The deputy head of the National Iranian Petroleum Products Distribution Company announced the readiness of the infrastructure for development of the CNG industry in the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and reaching a daily distribution capacity of 30 million cubic meters of the item.

Speaking to Shana, Hamid Ghasemi Dehcheshmeh said that the infrastructure for the development of compressed natural gas (CNG) industry had been created in the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and the company, adding efforts were needed in the conversion sector of the industry which were under way.

He noted that the Ministry of Petroleum had been supporting the industry since its incipience, adding so far 920,000 CNG-fueled vehicles have been produced in Iran and nearly 1.4 million others have been supported by the ministry for being converted into gas-run cars.

The official further said that 1.5 million public cars were to be converted to gas-run vehicles which would fully cover the public transportation sector.
