MP Calls for Supporting Petrochem Industry

A member of the Iranian parliament’s presiding board underlined the necessity of supporting petrochemical industries in order to curb sale of crude oil and gas.

Speaking to Shana, Mohammad Ali Vakili stated that Iran’s petrochemical industry needs support to complete the value chain with the aim of producing final products, considering its effective functions in the country’s economy and industry.

The member of the parliament’s presiding board further called for a national determination for minimizing export of crude oil and gas, adding without a doubt, the increasing development of the petrochemical industry will help enhance non-oil exports, because these products have a good market in the region and the world.

He added: The supply of petrochemicals, along with hard currency generation, creates jobs. The petrochemical industry is one of the industries that prevent the sale of resources and has brought the greatest value added to the country; besides, development of this industry activates other large industries.
