2 SP Phases Produce Gas Worth $4.2b

South Pars Gas Field`s phases 2 and 3 produced 21 billion cubic meters of natural gas. worth $4.2 billion. in the previous fiscal that ended in March. the head of South Pars` 2nd Refinery said.
A portion of the natural gas output from South Pars` 2nd Refinery. dedicated to processing natural gas output from SP phases 2 and 3. was injected into Iran Gas Trunkline (IGAT) and the rest was sent to Pars Petrochemical Plant in Asalouyeh as feedstock. Mahdi Gerami Shirazi was quoted as saying by ILNA on Saturday.
Pointing to other products of the refinery. Shirazi noted. The complex manufactured 134.000 tons of sulfur. worth $12 million. in the period.
According to the official. all sulfur consignments produced in phases 2 and 3 are being shipped overseas.
Asked about gas condensate exports. Shirazi said a total of 24.5 million barrels of condensates. worth $1.3 million. were transported last year.
Pointing to the 4% year-on-year increase in production of South Pars phases 2 and 3 in fiscal 2016-17. he said that the two phases were overhauled faster due to improved access to parts and equipment in the post-sanctions era.
Referring to China and India as the biggest customers of Iranian sulfur and condensates. he said that due to low demand in Europe. Iran is concentrating on expanding exports to Asia.
South Pars is the world’s largest gas field. shared between Iran and Qatar. covering an area of 3.700 square kilometers of Iran’s territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. It adjoins Qatar’s North Field. which measures 6.000 square kilometers.
