Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri expressed the country’s readiness to satisfy Vietnam’s demands for oil and gas.
In a meeting with Vietnamese minister of agriculture and rural development in Tehran on Saturday. Jahangiri said Tehran is prepared to satisfy Vietnam’s demands for oil and gas and provide the Southeast Asian nation with technical and engineering services.
He also expressed the hope that an upcoming session of Iran-Vietnam cooperation commission would help achieve the goal of increasing the value of bilateral trade exchange to $2 billion.
Jahangiri also noted that Tehran is ready to work with Hanoi in the fight against terrorism. narcotics trafficking and money laundering.
For his part. the visiting minister hailed Iran as a major economy with great capacities in the oil. gas. and petrochemical industry. as well as in agriculture and mine industry.
The Vietnamese minister said his country is also eager to have access to the Middle East and Central Asia markets via Iran.
In March 2016. Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang visited Iran with a big delegation.
During the official visit. the two countries signed a number of agreements and unveiled plans to boost the annual bilateral trade to $2 billion in five years.
