Iran Ready to Supply 3.000MW Electricity to Pakistan

Iran is ready to increase electricity supply to Pakistan from the existing 100 megawatts upto 3.000 megawatts. said Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost.

He was speaking at a roundtable discussion on Iran-Pakistan relations to mark the 70th anniversary of bilateral ties at Institute of Strategic Studies Research and Analysis (ISSRA). a think-tank of National Defence University in Islamabad.

Referring to the historical relations between the two countries. he emphasized on the importance of further cooperation in all fields. particularly at on international issues.

The Iranian ambassador stressed the need for greater use of the capacities of the two countries and while describing Iran`s capabilities in the field of energy. `We are ready to export our electricity to this neighboring country up to 3.000 megawatts.`

Honardoost emphasized the need for increased bilateral cooperation. especially the fight against drug trafficking. by explaining the effective role of Islamabad and Tehran in resolving regional issues and the Islamic World.

He also expressed Iran`s interest in joining the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer its experiences to Pakistan in the fields of science. nanotechnology. air-space industry and other fields of science and research.

The ambassador praised Pakistan government for making immediate response against US President Donald Trumps’ decision to recognize Al-Quds as the capital of Zionist Regime.

Director General ISSRA Major General Muhammad Samrez Salik. expressing his views said Pakistan and Iran should have to use each other`s capabilities. He added there is also a need to increase mutual cooperation in commercial and economic sectors.
