The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline TANAP and Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) projects will play an important role will play an important role in ensuring Europe’s energy security. Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak said in an interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
The Turkish minister stressed that TANAP and TAP are of great importance to Europe as these projects are alternative sources of gas and create a competitive environment in the sale of gas in the region.
He went on to say that although Europe spoke for years about the NABUCCO project. it could not be realized.
“Thanks to the joint participation of Azerbaijan and Turkey. it was managed to implement such important projects for Europe. Therefore. gas from other countries can be transported via this pipeline in the future.“ said Albayrak.
He noted these projects also underscore Turkey’s role in ensuring Europe’s energy security.
