The Syrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced today Syria plans to increase its crude oil production to 310.000 barrels per day by 2022. which will help boost the economy of the Arab country.
This increase would represent 81 percent of the oil production taxed by the Arab state in 2010. one year before the armed conflict`s outbreaking.
Before the end of this year. Syria expects to extract 68.000 barrels of crude oil per day. a figure made possible by the country`s recovery of oil wells and the modernization of its infrastructure. including gas. an official source indicated.
The Syrian Gas Company also reported the large Debeisan field gas I. located in the western part of the northern province of Raqqa. recently restarted production following the modernization of its facilities.
The Company specified this important field. with a capacity to pay 250.000 cubic meters of gas per day. was taken from the terrorist group Islamic State by the Syrian Army.
According to the production institution. Syrian government is working on the rehabilitation of three other fields in the same area in order to boost its energy production which feeds electricity plants throughout the country.
During the last months. as the Syrian state increased oil and gas exploitation. many communities in this territory have benefited from electricity and increased supplies of fuel needed at homes.
