Qatar took part in the third international symposium to discuss ways to strengthen international efforts to reduce highly enriched uranium in the civilian nuclear sector around the world. The symposium was organized by the Norwegian government in Oslo. in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani represented the country in the international symposium. Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani held meetings with heads of delegations of the participating countries. where he expressed Qatar’s keenness to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy in the world.
