Former IAEA Chief Criticize Trump`s Policy Towards Iran

The former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammed ElBaradei criticized today the anti-Iranian policy of US President Donald Trump.

You cannot renege on a deal considered by all as a keystone. threaten the country. humiliate its leaders and then impulsively call for talks!. ElBaradei wrote on his Twitter account.

The former IAEA chief alluded to Trump`s decision to abandon the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCOPA) and the imposition of new economic sanctions against the Islamic republic. actions rejected by the international community.

But yesterday the president was willing to meet without preconditions with his Iranian counterpart. Hassan Rouhani.

`Agreements are based on trust. mutual accommodation and respect. not intimidation and threats.` ElBaradei said.

In his view. the approach used by Washington in the talks with the Democratic People`s Republic of Korea is not a good model for negotiations with Iran.

President Rouhani`s adviser. Hamid Abutalebi. on Tuesday. conditioned his government`s assistance to the bilateral dialogue on reducing hostility to Tehran and the return of Washington to the JCOPA.

However. the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry. Bahram Qassemi. ruled out yesterday any meeting on the face of the White House`s aggression.

`The hostile actions of the United States against Iran nullified any possibility of talks between Iran and that country.` the spokesman said at a press conference.
