Hyundai Heavy Wins $210 mln Oil Tanker Order from Norway

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co.. the world`s biggest shipbuilder by sales. said Monday it has received a US$210 million order to deliver two oil tankers to a Norwegian shipper from June 2020.

Hyundai Heavy won the order from Norway-headquartered Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT) and plans to start building the two oil tankers in its shipyard in Ulsan. 410 kilometers southeast of Seoul. from the first half of 2019. the company said in a statement.

The company. together with its two affiliates Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co.. obtained orders to build 129 ships valued at $10.4 billion in the January-September period.

The combined order figure accounts for 79 percent of the three firms` order target of $13.2 billion for this year.
