Sonatrach Suspends Oil Operations in Libya

Algeria`s state-owned Sonatrach has transported its equipment on the Libyan territory to Algeria through the crossing border of Ghadames.

The oil company`s step was preceded by the evacuation of its employees as a result of the deteriorating security conditions in Libyan since 2014.

Sonatrach had completed drilling about seven oil wells ready for production in partnership with the National Oil Corporation (NOC) before deciding to withdraw from Libya temporarily until security conditions improve.
