Libya Halts Oil Export due to Bad Weather

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that it had halted the export of crude oil from the poil ports of Ras Lanuf. Zueitina. Zawiya and Es Sider in full. due to bad weather.

`Because of high waves. the company might be forced to halt the loading operations temporarily. from Friday afternoon.` NOC explained in a statement Friday.

The company clarified that the production had declined by 150 thousand barrels per day. and is likely to decrease by another 50 thousand barrels per day due to lack of capacity of additional storage tanks.

It further noted that it might be short of storage space in Sidra port. hence. oil production will stop during the coming days. if bad weather continues. as well as a decrease in the production of Sharara field by 150 thousand barrels a day.
