Iran Rise Natural Gas Production by 12 Percent

Managing Director of the South Pars Gas Company Hadi Hashemzadeh Farhang announced that that the production of natural gas in Iran`s largest gas field has increased by 12 percent.

`The inauguration of two phases in South Pars over the past years helped Iran to overtake Qatar in terms of gas extraction from the shared South Pars field.` Hashemzadeh Farhang said.

The South Pars managing director also said that over last Iranian year of 1397 (March 21. 2018-Marh 21. 2019) gas extraction for the field increased by 7 percent compared to the year before.

He reiterated that the production of sweet gas and sour gas has risen by about 12 percent.

South Pars has 14 trillion cubic meters of natural gas and 19 billion barrels of gas condensate. which is equivalent to 50 percent of the country`s overall reserves and eight percent of the world`s gas reserves.
