Two Thirds of Nord Stream 2 Pipeline has been Completed

Russian gas giant Gazprom stated that 73.6% of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been build. reports TASS news agency. At the end of June. the company stated that 60% of the pipeline was built.

`The construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline continues. To date. 1805.6 km of the gas pipeline has been laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea. accounting for 73.6% of its total length.` the report said. 

Earlier. media reported that the launch of Nord Stream 2 could be postponed for eight months at the request of Denmark. Copenhagen has not yet permitted to lay a gas pipeline in its territorial waters. The decision on this issue should be made in August.

The gas pipeline is expected to be launched at the end of 2019. 1220-km pipeline will run along the bottom of the Baltic Sea from the Russian coast to the coast of Germany. The capacity of each of the two lines is 27.5 billion cubic meters per year.

The new gas pipeline will double the capacity of the first Nord Stream. the route of which it will basically repeat.
