Pakistan Allocates over $250m for IP Project

Over US $ 250 million have been allocated in the current budget for gas infrastructure development. including Iran-Pakistan (IP) Gas Pipeline Project. said Pakistan Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
The minister said agreement with Iran regarding the IP project will be amended shortly. He. however. said the work on the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline project will start after lifting of international sanctions on Iran.
Earlier Pakistani state media had reported that Iran has agreed to negotiate amendment to the Gas Sale Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Pakistan for implementation of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project in the extended period.
The 56-inch diameter pipeline will initiate from South Pars gas field of Iran and end at Nawabshah Sindh Province of Pakistan. covering a distance of around 1.931 kilometer with 1.150 km portion in Iran and 781 km in Pakistan.
