Iran and Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to study Golshan and Ferdowsi gas fields for a period of seven months.
The MoU was signed between Deputy Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company for Development and Engineering Affairs Gholam-Reza Manouchehri. and Head of the Managerial Department of Malaysia`s Bukhary International Ventures (BIV) Shamsul Zahar Abas.
The Iranian side provided the meeting with a report on Golshan and Ferdowsi fields and representatives of the two countries underlined expansion of mutual cooperation.
The Golshan gas field is one of the NIOC recent discoveries which is located at approximately 180 km south east of Bushehr. 65 km offshore the Persian Gulf. The volume of gas in place (GIP) of the field is estimated at 42 to 56 TCF.
Ferdowsi Gas Field is another recent discovery of the NIOC. located at approximately 190 kilometers southeast of Bushehr. 85 kilometers offshore the Persian Gulf.
