Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on boosting economic and trade cooperation with Iran.
The MoU ratified by the Russian president deals with helping the Iranian and Russian investors to prepare themselves for joint investment in each others` projects.
According to the MoU. Tehran and Moscow will give sufficient guarantees return of capital to the investors in all areas in case problems occur.
Iranian and Russian officials on different occasions have underlined the need for paving the way for foreign investments.
In a relevant development in mid-December. Iran-Russia Energy Committee convened for the first ever at the presence of Deputy Minister of Petroleum for International Affairs and Trading Amir-Hossein Zamaninia and Russian Deputy Energy Minister Molodtsov Kirill.
The Iran-Russian Energy Committee started within framework of the 13th Iran-Russian Joint Economic Commission as a delegation consisting more than 30 persons from Russia were present in it to discuss mutual cooperation.
The 13th Iran-Russia Joint Commission session started since Sunday and will end on Tuesday with conclusion of several cooperation documents.
Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Mahmoud Vaezi. and Russian Energy Minister. Alexander Novak. were presidents of the joint commission session.
