Iran 5-Month Petchem Output up 6% Y/Y

Production of petrochemicals in the first five months of the current calendar year, which began on March 20, rose by 6% compared to the same period last year in Iran.

According to the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Seyed Jalal Mirhashemi, NPC’s director of production control, said production stood at 25 million tons during the period, adding petrochemical plants operated with a good capacity during the 5 months.

He added: Petrochemical industry as one of the parent industries is one of the most important pillars of development and the driving force of various sectors of the economy and the approach of the National Petrochemical Company is to complete the production chain, diversify products, feed domestic industries and increase the value of the product portfolio.

The official said that this year plans were under way to maximize productivity of the sector.
