Referring to US new sanctions against Iran targeting eight high-level officials. China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang said that China is against US unilateral sanctions on Iran.

The meeting comes as Iran took its fifth step of reducing commitments to the JCPOA on January 5.

The leaders also reaffirmed their opposition to the US decision to pull out of the nuclear deal.

Germany. France. UK – have urged Iran not to walk away from the agreement that has been practically rendered ineffective after the US’ pullout in 2018.
