First Jacket for Johan Sverdrup Field Primed for Delivery

Maersk Oil has published a picture of the jacket for the Johan Sverdrup field’s riser platform. saying it will be ready for delivery this month.
The jacket. which weighs in a 26.000 tones. was completed at Kvaerner’s yard at Verdal last month.
It is the first major structure to be completed for the Johan Sverdrup project.
Maersk Oil. which has an 8.44% stake in the project. said on its Twitter account: “Johan Sverdrup’s riser jacket complete and ready for delivery this month – another step towards first production in 2019.
Statoil is the operator of Johan Sverdrup with a 40% stake. The other partners are Aker BP. Petoro and Lundin.
First oil is expected from the North Sea field. located 160kilometres west of Stavanger. in 2019.
