There was no consensus among members of parliament`s Zagros-dwelling Caucus [which brings together deputies hailing from Zagros and western provinces] against proposed energy minister Habibollah Bitaraf. said Mohsen Biglary who represents Saghez and Baneh in the Islamic Consultative Assembly.
There was a negative atmosphere against him though. and unfortunately he was unable to properly defend his past conduct and future programs. the MP who is a member of the chamber`s Planning and Budget Committee said. adding I can definitively say that [Oil Minister Bijan Namdar] Zangeneh is an honest person.
He further said ever since Zangeneh took the helm of the Oil Ministry. the volume of crude production in the country has doubled and this is praiseworthy. That is why MPs want to interact with his ministry when it comes to budgetary issues.
The MP said Mr. Zangeneh is a very capable person and a source of pride for the establishment on the world oil stage. We hope we can reduce our dependence on oil in our future planning. he concluded.
