Head of Armenia-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan underlined the need for commissioning the pipeline carrying Iran’s gas to Armeni.
In a meeting with chairman of Majlis (Parliament) Energy Commission. Fereydoun Hasanvand. Baghdasaryan said that boosting relations in the energy sector and commissioning gas pipeline from Iran to Armenia can contribute a lot to ensuring Armenia’s energy security.
Underlining significance of contacts between the two countries. he said that Armenian government and parliament consider no limits to development of ties with Tehran and favor using the two countries` economic capacities.
The Armenian official also stressed the need for implementation of agreements and commissioning of the gas pipeline from Iran to Armenia. saying that bolstering ties in the energy sector can greatly help meeting Armenia’s energy needs.
Hasanvand. for his part. underlined continued friendly exchanges and promoting historical relations between the two nations. saying that the two countries have always had positive and historical relations which can serve as a strong backing for expanding political. economic and cultural ties.
Majlis Energy Commission supports any move in line with promoting economic and industrial relations between the two countries. he said.
Referring to the concluded agreements between the two countries on energy and power. Hasanvand said that they have reached good agreements in the energy sector. which should be implemented in line with the two countries’ interests.
Voicing Majlis readiness for removing obstacles in the way of Iran-Armenia relations. he said that holding regular joint economic meetings can give a momentum to bilateral exchanges.
