Meysam Araie Darunkala. a Central Asia expert. has said that Iran can act as an appropriate corridor to connect Kazakhstan to the Persian Gulf region as well as Pakistan and India.
“Kazakhstan. for its turn. can serve as a bridge for Iran to access China. Russia. Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.“ he told IRNA in an interview published on Sunday.
He called for expanding economic and political ties between the two countries.
The expert cited natural and geopolitical situation of Kazakhstan and the isolation imposed on the country during the Soviet era as main reasons that hindered development of relations between Tehran and Astana in the past.
He noted that relations between the two countries should be reviewed from different aspects.
