Iran Plans to Turn Jask to Oil Export Terminal

Iran has defined plans to turn Jask Port into a major oil export terminal. a senior Iranian oil official said.

Addressing an international conference on Monday. Nouredin Shahnazizadeh. the managing director of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC). said given the ongoing activities in the area. the port will turn into one of Iran`s main oil export terminals in the future.

He said an $2b oil pipeline is being built to carry oil from Guriyeh in Shoaybiyeh-ye Gharbi Rural District. Shadravan District. Shushtar County. Khuzestan Province. southwestern Iran. to Jask County. Hormozgan Province. southern Iran. which stretches 1.000 kilometers.

He said Iranian manufacturers will provide the pipes for building the pipeline.

The PEDEC official further said that storage tanks and maritime facilities will also be constructed in Jask. adding 20 storage tanks each capable of storing 500.000 barrels of oil will be build in the county with an investment of $200 million.
