Gazprom is ready to construct Nord Stream 3 if the European Union confirms the need for Russian gas. as stated by Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev on
“We have proven reserves. we have transportation. we are building new transport routes. If Europe expresses its needs and is ready to sign the necessary contracts. I won’t rule out the need for more new gas transportation projects such as Nord Stream 3.“ RIA Novosti cites Medvedev.
Currently. the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that would link Russia and Germany while bypassing other transit countries is being built under the Baltic Sea.
