Iran Offers Condolences to Mexico over Deadly Pipeline Explosion

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi offered condolences to the people and government of Mexico over a deadly oil pipeline explosion which claimed the lives of at least 66 people.

Qassemi in a message on Saturday expressed sympathy with the families of the victims of Mexico pipeline blast.

He also wished swift recovery for all the injured in the incident.

Expressing sympathy with the Mexican government and nation over the deadly incident. he said that Islamic Republic of Iran is standing alongside the Mexican nation and government and is ready to render any help it can.

Earlier on February 2018. Iranian and Mexican officials in a meeting in Mexico City underlined the need for the expansion of mutual cooperation in different areas. specially in politics.

During the meeting in Mexico`s capital city. Director General for the Americas at the Iranian Foreign Ministry Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh and Mexican Deputy Foreign Minister Luis Alfonso De Alba explored the avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral relations.

Keshavarzzadeh pointed to the importance of Latin America for Iran. and said both countries have sufficient experiences in developing technologies.

He also pointed to the US approach to violate Iran`s nuclear deal. and said. `The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is achievement of a multilateral diplomacy.`

Alfonso De Alba voiced. for his part. voiced his satisfaction over broadening of relations between two countries. and said Mexico supports economic cooperation with Iran.

`Mexico has always supported Iran deal and considers it as a multilateral diplomatic success.` he added.

He also expressed concern over multilateralism and threats.
