Iran Calls for More Academic Cooperation with France

In his today meeting with members of the Al-Zahra and Ibn Sina universities. Qassemi underlined the need for strengthening and deepening of bilateral academic cooperation between Iran and France.

He also called for strengthening of bilateral academic cooperation through broadening technical and professional cooperation. scientific consultations. exchange of university professors and students. and transfer of experiences.

Iranian universities have established broad academic cooperation with counterparts from different countries.

Last month. Tehran and Tbilisi studied avenues to broaden bilateral relations in academic and scientific fields. between the two countries` universities.

In Early March. Iran’s Tabriz and Turkey’s Gazi universities voiced their determination to broaden academic cooperation with sealing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) through exchanging students and professors and conducting joint research projects.

On December 28. it was announced that Iran`s Ministry of Science. Research and Technology and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of Germany have reached an agreement to conduct a host of joint academic and research projects.

On December 23. Iran’s Hakim Sabzevari University signed 2 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with two academic centers in Iraqi Kurdistan region. Salahaddin University and Ishik University. to expand academic cooperation.

On December 12. Iran’s leading academic center. the University of Tehran. and Malaysian University of Putra signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to pave the ground for a joint research project on social responsibility.

Earlier. Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi announced in September that his country stands first in West Asia in terms of scientific progress.

In relevant remarks in June 2018. Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari announced that the country ranked 15th in the world in producing science and stood 7th in nanotechnology.

In the past 1.5 years. the Islamic Republic of Iran has ascended three steps and is now standing among the 15 pioneering science production nations in the world. Sattari said.

Noting that Iran ranked 7th in advanced nanotechnology. he said. We have plans to rank 5th in this field.

Sattari also announced that 1.500 knowledge-based companies were active in different Iranian provinces.
