Exports from Iran’s Northern Province of Ardabil Up by 30%

In the first quarter of the local calendar year (March 22-June 21). some 101.413 tons of goods have been exported by 4.581 trucks through Bilehsevar border crossing of Ardabil province. that is 78.236 tons or 30 percent higher than the figure related to the same period in last year. Rahmati announced today.

The major part of the exported goods is comprised of tiles. glass. salt. bitumen. different kinds of profile and potatoes.

On cross-border imports. the official said that during the period. 8.196 tons of goods have been imported through the border terminal by 382 trucks.

Cotton. thread. cardboard and Liquorice comprise the main part of the imports.

Bilehsevar shares border with the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Customs Office and border terminals of the city serve as the only cross-border trade in Ardebil province.

Last Sunday. it was announced that three-month records of non-oil exports from Iran’s Southeastern port city of Chabahar showed a 100 percent year-on-year increase during the period from March 21 to June 21. 2019. which displayed the country’s success in adopting economic policies capable of countering US’ unilateral sanctions.

Non-oil exports from Chabahar Port increased by 100 percent in the first three months of the current year (March 21 – June 21). showing a significant 100 percent growth compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

The Director General of Sistan and Baluchistan Ports and Maritime Organization Behrouz Aqayee said. Loading and unloading goods increased considerably after the inauguration of first phase of Shahid Rajaei Port of Chabahar. The loading and unloading operations of various types of oil- and non-oil products in Chabahar Port registered a 37 percent growth since the beginning of this year as compared to the same period last year.

He further noted that loading and unloading operation of oil products in this period increased by 69 percent while the export of non-oil products showed a considerable 100 percent hike as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

The director general of provincial Ports and Maritime Organization added that the number of inbound vessels. above 100.000 tons. has experienced a 29 percent hike in the first three months of the current year as compared to the same period of last year.
