Iranian Minister of Industry. Mine and Trade said that Pakistani authorities are interested in broadening and developing economic relationship with Iran. and in this regard. bilateral Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were inked between the two parties.
Rahmani made the remarks late on Friday upon his arrival in Zahedan and said. “Fruitful talks were exchanged in our meeting with Pakistani officials. so that Pakistani authorities voiced their vehement interest to develop and expand business exchanges with the Islamic Republic of Iran.“
He pointed to the MoU inked between Iranian and Pakistani officials and added. “Activating joint border marketplaces as well as promoting trade and business exchanges with the participation of private sector especially merchants of the two countries were of the salient agreements made in this respect.“
According to the special emphasis of president of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistani prime minister. it is agreed that bilateral trade exchange volume will hit $5 billion annually. industry minister added.
He put the current economic exchanges between the two countries at more than $1.3 billion. expandable to $5 billion.
Islamic Republic of Iran has not any limitation in the field of increasing economic exchanges with neighboring countries. he said. adding. “we welcome enhanced cooperation and collaboration of Pakistani merchants and businesspersons with Iranian counterparts wholeheartedly.“
Earlier on Friday. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. in a meeting with the delegation led by Rahmani. reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening relations with Tehran in diverse fields. including people-to-people exchanges.
Last month. a number of Pakistani Members of Parliament (MPs) underlined their country’s support for Iran. reassuring that Islamabad will remain beside Tehran in the face of Western pressures against the Islamic Republic.
Senior Pakistani parliamentarians on June 18 reiterated their support towards Iran. adding that people and the parliament of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the brave Iranian nation against aggressive approach by the Western powers.
They were speaking at an interactive discussion of Iran-Pakistan parliamentary friendship group organized by Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS).
Former Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly and Senior Parliamentarian Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said on the occasion. `We have been emphasizing on parliamentary diplomacy for the past six years.“
He said that Iran is going through harsh and testing times. but members of Pakistani parliament from all parties are united to condemn any aggression against Iran. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Iranian brothers and sisters.“ the senior politician said.
The lawmaker said that Iran on one hand is a resource rich country and Pakistan on the other is a nuclear power that is why some countries in the world cannot digest stronger Iran-Pakistan ties.
He said that there is immense potential of trade between Iran and Pakistan.
