Kianipour. who also heads Yasuj Chamber of Commerce. Industries. Mines and Agriculture said today that trade between Iran and Slovakia has increased by 110 % this year despite sanctions.
`This volume of transactions is a valuable step for the continuation of Iran-Slovakia bilateral relations.` he added.
He added that the participation of trade delegations of the two countries. despite the sanctions. has played a key role in achieving this success.
Kianipour said that the Head of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce has eliminated the problems related to the return of currency from the export of Iranian companies to Bratislava.
Noting that Slovakia is the gateway to Iranian products to Europe. Kianipour said that holding of a joint economic commission between the two countries at the beginning of the year (2020) will solve the business problems of Iranian economic activists in Slovakia.
Kianipour said that one of the problems of exporters of products to Slovakia was closing the accounts of Iranian companies due to the boycott. which is being resolved with consultations.
The Slovak Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe.
Late in June. Slovakian Finance Minister Peter Kažimír and the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Peter Žiga. in separate meetings with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi. said that Bratislava is hopeful to significantly increase its economic relations and trade ties with Tehran after Europe’s Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is put into effect.
Kažimír and Žiga said that they are determined to have further relations with Iran once the European special financial channel with Iran is established.
In a related front. earlier on January 06. a host of Slovakian business activists visited Tehran. and met with Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s Energy Commission Hossein Amiri Khamkani.
In the meeting. the Slovakian business activists reassured that they are resolute to strengthen cooperation on renewable energies.
