Phase two of the national project of center for producing and developing radiopharmaceuticals became operational on Wed. in the presence of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Chief Ali Akbar Salehi and also some senior officials of the organization.

In the inaugural ceremony. AEOI Chief Salehi seized this opportunity to express his special thanks to the unsparing efforts and endeavors of functionaries of this giant project.

Radiopharmaceuticals are radioisotopes bound to biological molecules able to target specific organs. tissues or cells within the human body. These radioactive drugs can be used for the diagnosis and. increasingly. for the therapy of diseases.
