Post-JCPOA paved the path for presence of USA in Iran. and no barriers exist for oil collaboration between Iranian and American oil firms. said Deputy Oil Minister Hossein Zamaninia.
He said Iran foresees no challenge in forming oil cooperation with America as positive signs can be already seen in this regard.
The official said no problems will exist in the future for development of partnership between Iranian and US companies in the oil industry voicing optimism that economic officials of both countries will have good cooperation since lifting of sanctions provided Americans with abundant investment opportunities in Iran.
The official reiterated that numerous venues existed for activity of US firms in the Iranian oil and gas industry which will. in turn. create new jobs for Americans.
Over the past three year. Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh has repeatedly emphasized that no sanctions have been imposed against American oil giants. “in case US firms ink an oil contract with Iran. they will receive payments only after the field reaches production level and even after production starts. payment will cease if. for any reason. a halt occurs in the output process.”
During and before sanction years. almost no joint cooperation existed between US and Iranian companies in the oil industry. Excluding the weak partnership with Halliburton or with the European branch of Schlumberger. huge American corporations like Chevron. Conoco Philips or Exxon Mobil practically performed no direct or indirect activity in the Iranian petroleum industry.
