Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano underlined that there has been no problem with IAEA`s inspections of Iran`s nuclear sites.
`IAEA inspectors have faced not problem while inspecting Iran`s nuclear sites.` Amano said a week after US President Donald Trump refused to certify that Tehran was complying with 2015 nuclear deal.
“We haven’t had sufficient time to see (a change) in the attitude of the Iranians. but they are cautious and we continue our control and verification activities without any problems.“ he added after meeting French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
The pact between six major powers and Iran restricts its uranium enrichment program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Amano. who had earlier met French President Emmanuel Macron. said that Tehran was also giving the IAEA full access to all the sites it needed to inspect.
`Thanks to the IAEA. we don’t have any concerns on this. The (deal) is being implemented transparently and we believe that Iran up to now has met its commitments since 2015.“ Le Drian said after meeting Amano.
On October 13. US President Donald Trump on Oct 13 took a new strategy toward Iran and decertified Tehran`s commitment to the 2015 landmark nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Trump`s approach has been blasted by many countries. international bodies. political communities and world media.
`Iran nuclear deal is not a bilateral accord and it belongs to no country and no country is able to terminate it.` High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said minutes after Trump`s speech.
Meanwhile. the Iranian President Hassan Rounani in a televised message shortly after Trump`s speech said his remarks were `nothing but a handful of baseless and empty allegations against the Iranian nation`.
