Iran Interested in Russia`s Proposal for Trade. Oil Sale

`Russia. in parallel with the Europeans. has presented a proposal for trade cooperation with Iran and we are also interested in trade ties with them because Russia can supply many of our needs by purchasing oil from us.` Hemmati said in an interview with the state TV on Sunday.

He also referred to the Iran-Europe financial mechanism. known as the INSTEX. and said this mechanism useless as long as it has not been put into effect. `yet of course. we are not waiting for the Europeans` move`.

Elsewhere. Hemmati revealed that Iran has certain backups to increase its foreign currency reserves. adding that some people are aware of its existence but do not know its exact nature.

`But they know that our hands are full.` he underscored.

Tehran and Moscow signed 9 agreements in the closing ceremony of the 15th joint economic cooperation meeting of Iran and Russia in the central city of Isfahan last Tuesday.

Novak said on Monday that both Tehran and Moscow were resolute to further increase bilateral ties in all areas. particularly in economic fields. where Washington has put its weight to isolate the Islamic Republic.
