Speaking in the Northeastern city of Mashhad. on Saturday. Rahmani Fazli hailed the European countries’ support for Iran under the US sanctions. while criticizing them for not sticking to their economic promises to Iran.
He noted that the enemies seek regime change in Iran and want to overthrow the Islamic Establishment through economic pressures.

Referring to guidelines set by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. Rahmani Fazli recalled the Leader’s insistence on pursuing the principles of the Resistance Economy doctrine as a way out of the economic problems. and called for relying on internal resources and the market of the neighboring countries.
Earlier on Saturday. Iran`s First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said that the ultimate goal of the maximum pressure campaign of US President Donald Trump was to make the government in Tehran fall. adding that in short term Washington is after ruining the economy of the Islamic Republic.
Their ultimate goal was to drive the Iranian government to collapse and their short term goal was to disintegrate the economy of Iran. said Jahangiri. in a ceremony to introduce new Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzayee.
Jahangiri said that the US was a signatory to the nuclear deal of 2015. officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) endorsed by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231. and then unilaterally pulled out of it. adding that the US started an unequal war in March 2018. when it restored the sanctions.
Earlier this month. Secretary of Iran`s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani asserted that Tehran’s active resistance policy genuflected the US policy of maximum pressure. adding that Washington held false assumptions to make the national economy of the Islamic Republic collapse.
The US policy of maximizing pressure followed by false assumptions to collapse Iran`s national economy was genuflected in the face of strategy of active resistance. Shamkhani said. in a meeting with a numbers of parliamentarians and presiding board of the Faction against the Sanctions of the parliament.
